Our Employee Training Program

Each of our employees has received detailed sanitization and disinfection training, as well as OSHA safety training. All new hires are trained prior to being sent to a customer site, and we provide continuing education through our in-house produced videos and our “train-the-trainer” approach. This ensures that our area and site managers receive updated training in the proper use of chemicals and equipment, and the best-in-class advancements in cleaning and sanitizing techniques. Our managers then pass along that training to the janitorial staff in the form of on-the-job training, providing the necessary context of each customer’s specific facility requirements. Accountability

Proper training means nothing without accountability. Each of our managers is responsible for ensuring that every janitor under their supervision is following the correct protocol. They are empowered to reward janitors on the spot for exceeding expectations, and may take immediate action to remedy a problem, if needed. Eco-Friendly

The Facilities Group Hawaii utilizes the most advanced and cost-effective eco-friendly and non-toxic cleaning solutions available. A janitor’s job is to clean and sanitize; not to spread dirty water, with equipment such as mop buckets. We have phased these out on most of our properties, in favor of microfiber mops. Not only are they more effective at cleaning and disinfecting floors, but they are eco-friendly, minimizing the amount of wastewater. “Consistent attendance is half the battle.”

The biggest challenge in maintaining quality cleaning day after day is ensuring that the cleaning crew arrives for work at their scheduled time, and that absences can be covered. When you service over 200 properties on 5 islands, many of which are cleaned by only one person, it isn’t possible for a manager to be on-site every day to take attendance. To address this challenge, we have adopted telephone timekeeping solutions that will send a text message to an account manager if the crew fails to clock-in on time, or at all.
